Mineral oils in the circular economy

Article image

The Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Act (EAGC) aims to accelerate the change in production and consumption model to limit waste and preserve natural resources, biodiversity and climate.
The law provides for the introduction of single-use plastic packaging on the market by 2040.

In France, following the adoption of Article 112 of the AGEC Act, certain mineral oils were banned in packaging in contact with foodstuffs by Decree No. 2020-1725 of 29 December 2020 and the order of 13 April 2022 providing for a ban on packaging and printed papers produced or imported after 1 January 2023 (with a period of disposal of inventories of 12 months).

The concerned prohibition will begin

  • 1 January 2023: MOAH – 1 to 7 aromatic cycles
  • 1 January 2025: MOAH – 1 to 7 aromatic cycles – 0.1% (or MOAH – 3 to 7 aromatic cycles)

As part of our sustainable development approach and in order to protect the health of the consumer, we have taken stock with all our suppliers.
